Some trophies are handed out. Others are kept for a lifetime. The difference is almost always in how they were made.
At Veritas, we design and make bespoke trophies and awards entirely in England, drawing on a network of silversmiths and craftspeople based in Birmingham, Sheffield and London. We hold a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty The King as a maker of bespoke silver gifts, a distinction earned through over a decade of commissions for some of the most recognisable organisations in sport, business and public life.
What Bespoke Trophy Design Means
Bespoke means made to your brief, not adapted from a template, not engraved off the shelf.
Every bespoke trophy design commission starts with a conversation. We listen to what the award needs to communicate, who it’s for, and what the occasion demands, ensuring that every detail is customised to perfection. From there, our in-house designers produce detailed drawings or CAD renders before anything goes near a workshop. Once approved, your piece is hand-finished by specialist craftspeople using techniques that have defined British silversmithing for generations, ensuring the highest quality in your custom trophies.
The result is a trophy that represents your organisation with the same care you put into the award itself, making it a truly personalised trophy.
Crafted Using Traditional Silversmithing Skills
The skills required to make a truly exceptional trophy are increasingly rare. Hand chasing, spinning, annealing, and hand engraving aren’t taught at scale. They’re passed down through workshops in cities where the silversmithing trade has thrived for centuries.
We deliberately keep our bespoke trophy design work in England because those workshops still exist here and because the standard of finish they produce can’t be replicated by machine.
Where it adds precision and flexibility, our in-house design team combine traditional methods with modern techniques: computer-generated design, 3D etching, and digital prototyping. The craft guides the process; technology supports it.
Our Trophy and Award Range
Our standard range provides a starting point for many commissions, a piece you can have engraved and delivered relatively quickly. For organisations with specific requirements, our bespoke design service takes any of these forms, or something entirely new, and builds it around your brief.
We work in sterling silver, silver plate, pewter, optical crystal, and handmade glass. All pieces can be engraved and personalised.
Popular award types include:
- Silver and silver-plated dishes, quaichs, and bowls
- Tankards and ice buckets
- Optical crystal column and hexagonal awards
- Handmade glass bowls
- Crystal globe paperweights
Bespoke Commissions: Case Studies

Harry Kane's Silver Boot
When Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane broke Jimmy Greaves’ club goal-scoring record in 2023, the club commissioned one of our most recent sporting trophies to mark the occasion properly. Veritas had to manufacture a solid sterling silver boot; an exact replica of one of Kane’s own boots, weighing 4 kilos. Each of his 267 goals is individually engraved on the plinth, with the date and occasion. A small but personal detail we found was his children’s names are etched into the boot itself.

The Ryder Cup All Star Match trophy
For the 44th Ryder Cup at Marco Simone in Rome, we designed the trophy for the inaugural All Star Match. A competition involving professional players alongside celebrity amateurs including Gareth Bale, Novak Djokovic, and Victor Cruz.

Aston Villa FC Match Day Gifts
Ahead of the club’s 2024 Champions League campaign, Aston Villa commissioned presentation gifts for opposition managers. The piece is a three-dimensional rampant lion, inspired by the club’s crest and the bronze statue outside Villa Park.

McLaren and Hilton 3D F1 Car Award
To mark twenty years of partnership between Hilton Hotels and McLaren, we produced an optical crystal block with a 3D-etched replica of the current McLaren Formula One car at its centre. The award was mounted on a wood plinth with a platinum-plated engraving plate.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is bespoke trophy design?
Bespoke trophy design is the process of creating a one-of-a-kind award built around a specific brief rather than taken from a catalogue. A bespoke commission typically involves design drawings or CAD renders, material selection, hand-finishing, and personalised engraving to create unique custom trophies and awards. The result is a piece made for a particular occasion, person, or organisation.
How long does a bespoke trophy commission take?
Timescales depend on the complexity of the design and the materials involved. A sterling silver bespoke commission will typically take longer than a crystal award. We recommend getting in touch at least eight weeks ahead of when the piece is needed; for particularly complex work, more lead time is better to ensure the best quality in your custom trophies and awards. We’ll give you a clear timeline when we discuss your brief.
What materials do you use?
We work in sterling silver, silver plate, pewter, optical crystal, and handmade glass. Some commissions combine materials, for example, a crystal block mounted on a wooden plinth with a silver-plated plaque, showcasing our ability to customise each piece. We’ll advise on the best material for your brief during the design stage.
Do you handle engraving and personalisation?
Yes. All pieces can be hand-engraved or machine-engraved, depending on the level of detail and the material. We can engrave names, dates, dedications, logos, and crest artwork. If you have a large-volume order that requires consistent engraving across multiple pieces, talk to us about that when you enquire.
Can you work to a specific brand or design identity?
Yes. Many corporate commissions require us to incorporate a client’s logo, crest, or visual identity into the piece. We work from brand guidelines, vector files, or existing artwork, and we’ll show you a render for approval before any work begins.
Do you offer a standard off-the-shelf awards as well as bespoke?
Yes. Our standard range of trophies and awards is available to browse online, with prices listed per unit. All standard pieces can be engraved. For commissions that go beyond what the standard range offers, the bespoke design service applies.
